shoe craving.

Yesterday I was planning on going to sleep early, but a shoe caught my eye and I ended up spending hours and hours looking at shoes. I came across Asami's blog, and couldn't stop looking at all of her shoes. Originally, I was going to spend my graduation money on a pair of shoes for college, but ended up pooling it in for a digital SLR camera. So if I get new shoes now, it would be a splurge.

Here's my compiled August wishlist. I'm using pictures instead of my usual drawings because I've been drawing and posting a lot on my main tumblr recently.
I want pastel shoes!! I find that I'm sort of a matchy matchy kind of person and so I tend to buy shoes in black, white, or brown so that I'd be able to wear them with anything. So I never have a chance to buy cool colored shoes. Pink and mint are my two favorite colors.

Lately while doing college packing, I found out that I don't really have that many pairs of comfortable shoes that fit. Besides my Doc Martens, nearly all my shoes are too big or too small. Most of them have been around since middle school. So I'm searching around for nice sneakers for everyday wear.
I want to get all-around (including the sole) pastel pink Nike dunks, but it's kind of a reach if they're not making them. I shopped this pair so that I could kind of get a feel for it.

I need to stop looking at shoes until I have the money for them. Either that or Forever21 needs to stock some new ones that I like.

july wishlist and japan t-shirts update.

Hey there, it's been a while! I'm back in town, but I still http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifhave a lot of unpacking and reorganizing to do. In the meantime, it's not too late for my monthly wishlist post.
It's short this month, yeah. That camera that I want is $620. And prices for the watch ranges. I still haven't decided on the color I want. As long as it's a Casio G-shock 5600. I kind of want to go with something other than black, so I've been eyeing the inverted black and white one. But that one's one of the more pricey ones.

A little belated, but in other news, I've donated the money that was raised from the Pray for Japan t-shirts I made. In total, $1152 was raised from t-shirts and some stickers that I sold. I donated $723 of it this week to Japan Society and Japan Earthquake Animal Rescue. Thank you for everyone who supported me in this effort!

june wishlist and some photos.

All of my wishlist items this month are splurge worthy items. I don't know if I'm going to end up getting anything off of it at all. I was going to throw some lolita dresses on this month's wishlist too, but they've been on my wishlist for ages now. Maybe I should have a garage sale or something.

I had a roll of film that was taken on my Minolta STR101 developed pretty recently by Snapfish. Half of the photos turned out unsuccessful. I'm not sure why that is. Also, none of the pictures in this roll had the pretty focus blur effect that the previous roll had.
I had them developed as 3.5 x 5, for nostalgia's sake. It's pretty uncommon nowadays, to find pictures in that size. Overall pretty unsuccessful roll. Already loaded the next one, so hopefully that one will turn out better.

Another thing, Asuka of My Meadows of Heaven gave me this award. Thank you so much!

I've been sleeping some weird schedules lately. It's a summer thing. I need more money to buy manga. And more DS games need to be released. I need new games.

may wishlist.

This month's wishlist! It was surprisingly difficult for me to come up with items that I wanted. Which is weird, considering how many times I've said "I want to buy that!" in the past month. I guess when I take the time to sit down and reflect on it, I forget everything.

I went through last month's wishlist, and I actually ended up getting three of the items in that list. Not bad! Let's see if I end up getting anything this month. I almost bought that Jason Wu set of CND nail polish earlier this month, but snapped myself out of it.

Also. I forgot. I got a tumblr because I didn't want my name to be taken. You can find me here. I wanted to make it an extension of my blog so I could have daily posts when I don't have time to post, but I ended up putting the link up on my deviantart first, so I thought it would be more appropriate to post art related things instead. You can still check it out if you'd like. I'm trying to refrain myself from following anyone, or else I know I'll end up checking back on it too often.

the only doctors i'd be willing to see are dr. martens.

I wear my Docs more than any other shoe, so I've been thinking of investing in another pair before I go to college. Lately, I've been looking out for styles that I might get. Some time ago, I searched up galaxy doc martens, and these came up.
I was dying for them to be real. If I'm not wrong, fallie shopped them. When I was still in the galaxy docs mood, I shopped a pair of my own. Gosh would I love a pair of galaxy docs.
I've been contemplating getting some materials to paint my own pair.

On the Dr Martens site, the pastel ones also stole my heart. They're all so pretty. I would love me a pair of pink ones. Maybe those mint ones, too. Pink and mint are two of my favorite colors.
I don't know how much I'd wear pastels, though. As much as I like looking at them, chances are I'd only be admire them in my closet instead of wearing them out. So I was considering buying these buckles ones. They have a zipper on the side, unlike a lot of the other docs. My docs take a pretty long time to get one, so a pair with zippers would be convenient.
Knowing me, florals are always on the list. These two pairs were out when I bought my first pair. I was also thinking of these two pairs, but went with the Victorian Flowers instead. I don't regret it.
I found this pair on etsy. I wish I bookmarked the seller, but I didn't. I can't remember who was selling them. Typography shoes, mmm.
If I can find a pair of old docs at a thrift store, then I'll DIY them. Though, I've been looking for old docs for the longest time, and I've never come across a thrift store pair.

april wishlist.

In the past few months since I started applying to colleges, I haven't been able to sit down and draw something for myself properly. Not even doodle. That's why I've decided to draw up a wishlist post once a month with some doodles of things I'm saving up for. Sure beats writing it up on a sticky note and slapping it on the wall like I usually do.
My white parasol broke earlier this week. It's probably fixable, but it's also kind of bent up and not in the best condition anymore, so I'll most likely buy a new one sometime soon.

In other news, I'm one item down on my wishlist! My Minolta came in today. My first purchase on ebay!
I'm reading through online manuals. They're so incredibly long. I'm not good with directions. Let's hope I get some good photos on this!

what happens when you leave milk sitting out too long?

I'm in love with Black Milk. I have never been a huge fan of legwear (which includes and is not limited to pants, tights, leggings, high thigh socks, that kind of thing), but I can make an exception for Black Milk. You guys know I'm a sucker for galaxy print.

All photos from this post from Black Milk

I had my heart set on this top pair in particular, before I realized that there were so many different variations available. I almost wish there weren't so many choices. I'd like to be able to buy them all, but at their price, I can only manage to squeeze out enough cash for one pair.

Left to right, top to bottom, red galaxy, rainbow galaxy, black galaxy, purple galaxy

Right now, it's a close race between the regular galaxies, red galaxy, and black galaxy. A decision I will probably not be able to make anytime soon.

In addition to their galaxy leggings, I also really like a lot of their other designs.
America leggings remind me of FRUiTS and Kera. The wet look leggings are nice because they can be incorporated into a lot of different outfits. And the skeleton leggings are just kind of awesome.

Black Milk has a good selection of swimsuits, too. I don't think I've ever liked a bathing suit as much as I like these before. The skintight onepiece isn't even my style; I like flowy babydoll tankini types with skirts. And yet, I can't even begin to describe how tempted I am to buy one of these.
Gosh, as if I weren't already broke. I don't even have the money to buy polaroid film yet. A job would do me good right about now.

million miles away.

For my 100th post, I wanted to incorporate some art, because it's not often that I post art on my blog. I am a huge fan of galaxies and cosmic print. This was drawn for Red.
Written in the Stars is stuck in my head.

Here's an extension of my SoCal trip.
Berverly Hills is boss, man. The houses are so nice. There are tour cars going around introducing celebrity houses. It was kind of weird. I didn't have a car there, so it was a lot of public transportation and walking. Ohh the walking.

While I was in Los Angeles, I took a trip to Maxfield's, because I wanted to see Comme Des Garcons. I took a picture of their window display. It's not a very good picture, but I was afraid of taking any more pictures because guards are pretty.

I did ask a worker inside if I could take a picture with the statues, though. I got pictures with all of them.
I felt a little awkward and out of place, especially with so many people dressed in suits. The workers were welcoming, though. One worker commented on how she liked my shoes. Another commented on my cat sweater dress.

I didn't see as much Comme Des Garcons as expected. What really took my breath away were the Christopher Kane dresses. There were two different ones in the babydoll style with resort 2011 prints. My biggest regret was not having the guts to ask for a fitting room. There were people who were trying things on and taking pictures. I wish I could have done that.

Holy shoot holy shoot this one. It's so freaking gorgeous. I originally also wanted to go to Opening Ceremony for the Alexander Wang items and Christopher Kane tees. I don't think I can ever afford the dresses, but I can at least hope for a sale on the tees. I still want that Zara one that I missed out on. Things I like:

Christopher Kane dress from Farfetch.com, Christopher Kane tee from Opening Ceremony, Galaxy tee from Zara, pink cosmic dress from Opening Ceremony, Christopher Kane Resort 2011, G-Star Marc Newson galaxy Gore Tex Jacket.

I haven't been able to find that Zara top anywhere. If anyone is selling it, you know who to contact. Oh yeah, and the Comme Des Garcons for H&M collection. I remember coming across it years ago, and brushing it off. Another regret. There are some pieces from the collection that I'd like.

If I become a designer, expect to see space related designs.

I woke up at noon today. And then watched the Mugler show. There was quite a bit of tripping and stumbling going on. Gaga wore something like 10 inch heels and walked effortlessly. Now that's beast. Just checked; Mugler is finally on Style.com! I wasn't floored by anything I saw, really,in the show today. My favorite would be this one, but perhaps for the wrong reason. It reminds me of Alexander Wang.

I do like the second half of the menswear collection, though. I wish I could do that, for Dare to Wear day tomorrow. It's a bit late now, though.

vivaglam gaga is back.

Another thing for me to look forward to next month! The first thing I'm looking forward to is finishing the last of my college apps.

The first Vivaglam Gaga lipstick for MAC was released about a year ago alongside Vivaglam Cyndi. I'd never bought a lipstick before, and the light pink isn't quite the type of color I would wear. Nude colored lipstick is the only color I'm willing to use.
But you know. If it's Gaga lipstick, I had to get it. Here's a picture I took of the first Vivaglam Gaga from last February.

Vivaglam Gaga II will be released in the US on February 17th. I'm particularly excited to buy it this time around because Vivaglam Gaga II will be a nude color!
I'll be running off to the mall just for this next month, no doubt. Information courtesy of Temptalia.

DIY: pseudo olympian god

A week ago, Coco of Muffin Top Baby, whose blog I adore, posted a DIY of one of her dream shoes, Miu Miu's pink swallows. Her creation inspired me to transform my own pair of shoes. And of course, I took on one design that I covet the most, Vivienne Westwood Anglomania x Melissa Gold Wing Rocking Horse Shoes.

This is one pair that I've admired since it was released. Now, finding a pair in my size and color is no longer an easy task.

I started off my mission at Goodwill, where i picked up a pair of black platform sandals. They were $10.50, a bit expensive for Goodwill standards. My next stop was Michael's, where I picked up a can of gold spray paint and some wing charms. There were maybe four or five different types of gold, which made it a bit difficult to choose one out.

I then taped the soles of the shoes to prevent it from turning gold. I first took masking tape to put around the edges, and then taped some paper to fill in the rest.

I took them out to spray paint, during art class. My teacher told me it was fine to spray paint without newspapers underneath because he liked the colors and designs that spray paint makes.

For my spray paint, I close Design Master in Brilliant Gold 731.

Not exactly the color I wanted, but it's still gold, so I'll accept it. This spray is so much more fast drying than the kinds that I've used in the past, before it was illegal for minors to buy spray paint. The kind that I used to have would take hours and hours to dry. This one took only a few seconds. Crazy!

Finishing touch was the little wing charm. I spray painted these too, though they were originally gold, to match the color of the shoes.
I wasn't sure how to connect these. I chose wire. I took a piece of wire for both sides, and looped it through the charm, and through the shoe belt hole.

And here is the result:

Success! While it's not perfect, I do like them quite a bit. And I've discovered the joy of spray painting during the process.

complexgeometries.

Lately, I've been really into neutrals, versatility, and draping. I'm not a big fan of geometry; in fact, I even skipped a level of math to avoid taking it. But Complexgeometries pretty much sums everything I like, put into one garment.
A piece from their Spring 2011 collection, fashionista.com
These are all pieces available on their website. Several of their pieces can be worn in different ways, like the swacket. I'm tempted to buy a tank top for myself, not until I get my swacket and all the Christmas presents that I'm planning to buy.

Oh right, I'm selling some of my lolita clothes here in case there's any interest.
