i'm wearing pants.

For once! I've been looking for acid wash jeans for ages in America and could never find a pair. Maybe I just suck at looking for pants when I need them.
But when I was in Taiwan, acid wash jeans were everywhere. I found a nearly perfect pair at Shilin Night Market, but the store had a no-try-on policy, and I promised myself that I wouldn't buy anything that I wasn't sure if I would fit in. Jeans are one of those things that I can't buy if I can't try on.
These jeans that I bought aren't exactly what I want, but I was able to try them on and they fit relatively well, so I bought them. Asian clothing is so small. It's a good thing that loose clothing is in style, or I'd have a harder time than I already to with buying things. The pants that I got came in four sizes; small, medium, large, and x-large. I could only fit in an x-large, despite being a small/medium in US sizing.
In Taiwan, a lot of clothing shops get their stuff from the same supplier, so if you dig around, you'll see the same clothes at different shops for different prices. I first saw this eyeball shirt at Ximending in Taipei, $17, which was above my budget. I later saw it at a different store for $13 and bought it there. It's a cool shirt, but my watch (and everything else) gets caught in the eye...hair a lot.
I got this scarf from my best friend yesterday! It's a McQueen lookalike.

Scarf: gift, eye shirt from Gongguan Taipei, pants from Taipei underground mall, shoes from Salvation Army

I think I'm eating too many carrots. No wonder my skin turns orange.

why i wear a lot of black.

A new outfit post, finally. I didn't take any in Taiwan because the lighting indoors wasn't good enough, so I'd have to go outside to take pictures, and by the time I get outside, I'd already be sweating buckets. And I didn't have very many outfits. because I only took two t-shirts and a couple of pairs of pants with me.

Sleeveless shirt, skirt, and tights from Taiwan
It looks like I went back to buying black clothes. It's no use; if I see something I like that comes in different colors, I'd always go with black. And then grey. And then maybe cream or white.

I thought about why I tend to steer towards neutral colors so much, and I think one of the reasons is so that I'd wear it more often. When I was younger, my dad was a little more strict when it came to buying clothes. I'd have to buy pieces that I would be willing to wear frequently, and it had to be big enough to last a few years at the very least. Neutral colors seem to go with everything, and I've gotten used to having to wear big sizes.

Here's the clothes that I bought in Taiwan. I think I'm missing one or two things here.

Six tops, a scarf, a dress, three pairs of drop crotch pants, denim shorts, and a pair of jeans.

Back to unpacking.

Kai

july wishlist and japan t-shirts update.

Hey there, it's been a while! I'm back in town, but I still http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifhave a lot of unpacking and reorganizing to do. In the meantime, it's not too late for my monthly wishlist post.
It's short this month, yeah. That camera that I want is $620. And prices for the watch ranges. I still haven't decided on the color I want. As long as it's a Casio G-shock 5600. I kind of want to go with something other than black, so I've been eyeing the inverted black and white one. But that one's one of the more pricey ones.

A little belated, but in other news, I've donated the money that was raised from the Pray for Japan t-shirts I made. In total, $1152 was raised from t-shirts and some stickers that I sold. I donated $723 of it this week to Japan Society and Japan Earthquake Animal Rescue. Thank you for everyone who supported me in this effort!

la dee dum.

Sorry for the lack of updates recently. It's pretty here, but I'm stuck with dial up and updating isn't all that easy. I'll make it up to you guys when I get back.
Here's a picture of my haircut. I want to dye it some color, but I haven't decided what yet. And I'll have to wait till I'm at my dorm. Got to go.

hair rebellion.

Lately, I've been really fixated with hair. I really want to do something with my hair. I think it's because I'm going off to college soon, and I can do whatever I want with my hair after I move out. At this point, I'm not really sure what I want to do. Angled, shaved, pastel...something I haven't done yet, for sure. Though, I'll probably just settle with highlights or something my freshman year. Don't want to give my parental units a heart attack when I return for break.
