oh look a sale.

I always have a difficult time choosing what to wear in the morning. For the most part, it's still pretty chilly in the morning. Recently, afternoons have been hot. I have the hardest time deciding whether or not to wear long sleeves.
pointelle cardigan, Byer Too! Vintage romper: thrifted
I went with long sleeves with holes today. I can never stand to wear this cardigan on cold days. It does absolutely nothing for me unless I wear a long sleeve top underneath. I almost never wear this romper either. On cold days, it's too breezy. The material is thin. On hot days, I don't wear it because I have to wear it with something over it. The sleeves are a bit puffy, to give the strong shoulders look. I'm really petite, and that look doesn't work on me. I love rompers, but it's so troublesome to use the restroom. It would be nice if it were a dress.

About that sale. Book sale this weekend! My mom works at the library, so there are some perks. I go with her to choose out books and things before the general public do.

There aren't as many fiction books as I would like. I rarely find books I'm looking for. There are quite a few reference and informational books. I participate in the $3 brown bag sale sometimes. On the Sunday of the book sale, you purchase a large brown bag for $3 and fill it up with whatever you'd like. Last year, I bought two bags and went home with a new dictionary, two dictionary-sized law books, several classics, Shakespeare, American history timeline series, that kind of stuff.

I went early today, and didn't find any books that I wanted. Ended up getting an Airbud DVD for my little brother, a Spongebob GameCube game, Kingdom Hearts I, Pirates of the Caribbean I and II, and a Michael Jackson This Is It CD.

This is another picture taken on my phone. I was going through pictures on my phone, deleting ones I don't need anymore.
I've wanted a military green jacket for the longest time. Two years ago, I couldn't find them in any stores in the US. I found this one early this year at Aritzia, and wanted to buy it. It was on sale, from $100 to $90. Hah. Over my budget. So I waited for a bigger markdown, which never happened. And then they sold out.

There's also that one from Vince that I would love to have. But $400 is kind of really over my budget. I haven't been to the mall in a pretty long time, so maybe I'll get lucky and find one that I like in my price range.

Whenever I see find old pictures of me with long hair, I really start to miss it all. I love my short hair too, but. But. I don't even know what. I also miss having black hair sometimes. Especially because my hair looks orange under the sun sometimes. I'd like ash brown.

Mmnnn sleepy.

sunrise.

I always miss the sunrise. One time, I woke up at 4am, and thought maybe I'll wait and watch the sunrise from my window. At six, it was still dark. And then by seven, it was already bright outside. I must have been watching in the wrong direction. Oh, silly me.
I was walking from the car to my class this morning and saw this. Immediately, I stopped and rummaged through my backpack for my cell phone, since I don't carry my camera with me. I haven't seen pretty clouds like that in a long time either. Sunrise has been around 7:15 lately. This was taken around 7:25. I'm used to the sun rising around the time I wake up, but it's pitch black every morning when I wake up now.

Oh oh! Today at school, the snack bar was selling new products. There was ice cream and Haagen Daz mango sorbet and other things. Among those things was my favorite frozen snack as a kid.
Itzakadoozies! Yes! I can't believe they sell these. All of the supermarkets in this area stopped carrying them years ago, so I haven't had one since elementary school. There's something strange about this one, though. The flavors labeled are lemon, cherry, grape and orange. In the original kind I used to buy, there was lime instead of grape.

I cut my hair again today. It's probably not too noticeable. I took a picture of the back of my head because I wanted to see what it looked like. At the Target fitting rooms, there are huge mirrors, and you can see your back too. I think those are really cool because I don't often get the opportunity to see my back.
I actually like how my hair looks in the back more than the front. Today,I saw more pictures of pretty long hair. Sorrrrt of want to get that long hairstyle too, but I also like my hair short. So conflicting!

Normally, I think I end by saying something like I have to do homework, but I actually don't have homework today. I finished poetry unit today (yes!!), and my Japanese test was over today too.

Oh wait I have econ homework. Never mind. I guess I'll go do that then.

is it hot wearing black in 90 degree weather?

It is, actually. I should have counted the times I got this today. I think, really, it's the layering that gets to me though. I'm so paranoid, one layer isn't good enough for me.
vest, baseball shirt from Forever21. Pants and shoes from Taiwan. Tank from Wet Seal
Funny thing is I wasn't wearing black when I got dressed this morning. Somehow, my outfits always turn black. Bright colors are out of my comfort zone. Maybe it would be a good idea to buy more colors the next time I go shopping.

It's mostly Wednesdays when I take my parasol to school with me, since I only have one class, and the sun is out and burning by the afternoon. I always get the sweetest complements from freshmen. I got 'elegant' in Chinese today. It's one of those times I'm really glad I can understand Chinese, especially because 50% of our school is Asian. I don't think I was dressed particularly elegantly, but the complement made me really happy. Gosh, freshmen are so sweet. I wish I could talk to them. I remember as a freshmen, I would have liked upperclassmen to talk to me. But as an upperclassman now, I'm still shy as ever ahaha OTL.

I have a chapter test tomorrow in Japanese, which I'll need to study for today. And then my slam poetry unit final, which is worth almost as much as an essay. And then I also wasted 4 hours this morning doing pretty much nothing. Arrrrg slap me!

Looks like I should get started..

the one I'd like to wear the most.

We're voting for class sweatshirts and I'm having a really difficult time choosing. The instructions say to choose the one we'd like to wear the most. Which is difficult because they're all really meh. It makes me wish I designed one. I try to avoid designing things for large groups of people because I'm sort of really thin skinned and don't take insults well. These are the two I've narrowed down to, out of the fifteen.
The top one is definitely most wearable. The bottom one, I almost chose because it made me chuckle. Also, I want a sweater with my name on it. Maybe I'll just make one myself. Our class council told us that we can make metallic prints this year. I would have loved a metallic print sweater. Too late for that, I guess. I guess I'll make that myself too.

I like my shoes but they make my feet hurt.

The shoes I wore today are totally comfortable if I'm just wearing them. But when I'm walking in them, occasionally I get the feeling that my feet are bleeding. I almost had to walk back from school in these. I don't know if that's possible without walking barefoot.lace and shoes from garage sale, Mulberry for Target bag, top and cardi from Goodwill, pants from Taiwan night market
Today, I wanted to use my Mulberry Target bag for school, but my school things didn't fit. I don't even have that many things. Just one half inch binder, a spiral notebook, workbook, small paperback textbook, a pencil pouch, and two folders. Kind of sad, considering my vintage bag and Betsey Johnson bag can both fit all of my things. It is the ideal size for my shopping days, though.
Trying to take pictures in a new location. The background is really messy, even though I cropped most of the mess out. Somehow, I feel like this place makes me look um. Shorter. That top picture makes me feel 12 instead of 18.

Right, I think I said something about these shoes I bought online a while ago. They're finally here, joy! After two weeks.Modernized Victorian style boots! I would never be able to wear real Victorian boots. There was a gorgeous pair at the flea market a few months back, and gosh, they're narrow. My feet can't fit in those. There must have been people with wide feet back in the day. How did they wear them. Or maybe they didn't. Yeah, maybe.

I'm probably going to be working on this all day today. It's my folder that I'm turning in to my teacher, who is writing a recommendation letter for me. At first I just wanted to doodle on the folder instead of just writing my name, but then I thought that looked too boring. Then I figured I should finish since it would be discourteous to leave a drawing unfinished like that. She'd be able to tell which folder is mine, at the very least. More effective than writing a name (though my name is on it too). January 5th is the day my first private college deadline.
It's been way too long since I last used my colored pencils. I think the last time I used them might have been in 6th grade. Or maybe 7th. It's been a while, in any case. For the first few minutes of coloring, I was really happy to use them. They really do bring back memories. And then I got annoyed. Coloring with colored pencils takes forever. I'd much rather stick with watercolors and markers.

I don't like coloring because I'm in constant fear of messing up. It's alright with photoshop, since I can just go back and erase anything I mess up on. But traditional media makes me paranoid. I actually like the sketch better. The feeling is kind of different. I like seeing other people's art in color, but I often prefer the sketches of my things over the finished product. I'm not sure why that is.

Over and out.
