m-m-mulberry for Target.

Woke up early this morning to get my Mulberry from Target. I thought I could just walk into the store and walk out within 15 minutes, but it turns out that they weren't even on the shelf when I got there. I checked in the bag section first because it seemed most likely to be there. Nothing. I asked a lady at the checkout, and she replied saying she has no idea what a "Mulberry" is, and pointed me toward the customer service table. I asked the customer service lady and she was totally lost too, and pointed me back to the girl I asked before. Then I asked a lady who looked more authoritative. She was confused too, saying "Mulberry bags? I don't think we have such a thing," but called up someone who was working in the accessories department.

The accessories lady had a paper with pictures of the bag, and said she'd be bringing the boxes out immediately. YES finally. That must have taken a good 15 minutes, at least. It took about another 10 minutes to wait for the boxes to come out. In the meantime, I took a picture of the Sanrio display there.
Cute! Then the lady rolled a shopping cart and put the bags in it as she unpacked them from the boxes. I was hoping to get a picture of them on the shelf, but that didn't happen.
I wanted to get the black crossbody one, but they were a bit too small to fit all the things I need to be able to fit in a bag. And also, crossbody bags look silly on me. I ended up buying the $50 black pebble one. I hadn't planned on getting that one. I didn't think it looked good in the pictures, but it looks really nice in person. My first choice was the black patent one that looks like the Bayswater bag. From the pictures online, I didn't think they'd be so small. Now that I think about it, they had a bigger version on the picture I scanned, but it wasn't in the store or on the website. Sneaky.
Here's my lovely new bag. I like to be able to fit whatever I feel like throwing in in a bag, so the size is pretty ideal. I have been secretly wishing that there would be a few surprise ones. One that looked like the Oak colored leather Alexa bag. I can only wish.

Tight schedule in the morning because right after Target, I had to go to school for Yearbook carwash fundraiser. I was afraid it would be too cold, but it the sun came out. I have patches of rashes from sun exposure now. Oh dear. Not to mention the terrible hat hair. That's one reason I'm not a hat person.
I haven't washed cars since I was seven. It's a lot easier than I remembered. Maybe because I've grown, or maybe because the sponges were huge and we were washing the cars in groups.

I went off to Kinokuniya and thrift shopping in the afternoon. Shipping from Japan to the US takes forever and a day (like a month or so), so it turns out that all of the things I was looking for weren't in stock yet. Oh fun. So I bought some stickers for myself to make up for the not-getting-what-I-needed.I think maybe I'll stick a couple on my computer.

Also went thrifting. I wanted to go to Salvation Army, but the store wasn't open. Maybe it's not open on Sundays? I have no idea. There wasn't a sign for hours..or any signs at all, for that matter. I went to Goodwill instead. Today wasn't spectacular. There wasn't anything in particular that I thought was a great find. Not like last time, when I found a pair of Stuart Weitzman shoes. I was so excited, except I there wasn't even a slight chance of them ever fitting me. If I recall, they were 3 full sizes too big.
I got a furry cardigan and a lacy pleated tank.
I'm being scolded for not being at the dinner table right this second, so I better get a move on.

thanks for telling me.

Today while I was in the car, my mother said something in the lines of "what the hell are you wearing?" Or a ruder way of saying "you look weird." Supportive. You know how mothers are supposed to teach their children not to say anything if they don't have anything nice to say? I told her that, and she brushed it off, replying with "I'm just telling you now so it hurts less when other people tell you that." Really, the only person I get insults from is my mom.
skirt, jacket, lace: thrifted, top: Peace Now
You'd think she'd be used to me wearing whatever I want. But she still freaks out whenever I wear an accessory in my hair. Which doesn't make much sense. I've had my fair share of large bows in the past few years. I don't mind terribly that I don't have her support, but I sort of wish she wouldn't be so open about it.This is the lace thing that I used as a collar-scarf today. It's the lace that I bought from the garage sale a few weeks back. I try to refrain from using the word thing, but I just had a brain fart and I can't remember the word for lace thing.
Whenever I wake up, the right side of my hair flips out. I hate it when it does that. Even if I use my curler or straightener, it still flips back out. Here's a picture from yesterday, before it flipped.
Oh, right. Planning on painting on these jeans. They're really boring, just blue like that. Paint or stud or something. Just make it less plain.

While I'm on the topic of paint, I was totally raging all today. I can't even count how many times I've discovered paint on my clothing due to art class. The majority of the times, it's not even my paint. In fact, I wasn't even in the painting area today. But my neighbor was painting something today, and keeps moving his brush AND the helmet he's painting right next to me. Not right next to me as in a foot away, but right next to me as in two inches away. I did scoot away plenty of times, but he still manages to get paint on me.

It was my jacket and my pencil pouch today.
Here's the victim.
I love my pencil pouch. Naturally, I started raging when I noticed. GRAAWWHHHHHNNGGG right there, in econ.
Poor little guy, looks like he's eaten grass. Luckily, I found the stain removal spray right when I got home and did the laundry. It's mostly gone by now.

It's kind of late now. I prefer blogging when I get home, but I promised myself that I would finish my homework before doing whatever on the internet. I did keep my promise, but it took forever to finish because of the printer. For some reason, I'm trying to print yellow but my printer keeps printing me pink. So everything that was yellow (the background) turned pink. I have no problem with pink. I like pink. But I designed it for my group project, and I'm sure there would be people who'd object to pink.

Almost twelveeeee. I'm going to be so knocked out tomorrow. I guess that means I wont study for SATs.

18 is the new 80.

I lost count of how many "woah you're old!" comments I got today. Actually I get those every year, because my birthday is earlier than the majority of everyone in my grade. But this is my first year getting that from my teacher. Haha

Several people asked me what I was going to do today to celebrate, and I honestly couldn't think of anything. My mom bought me a bouquet stargazer lilies. She hates them, but she knows that I like them. My dad walked into my room after he returned home from work, and then started started singing happy birthday until he had a cough attack, and then walked away.

I got a couple cards and cookies from some friends at school, and two people who conducted group singing. I thought long and hard about what to do to celebrate. Celebrated by doing no homework today! Whooo rebel. I'll do it all tomorrow. And then opened that bag of Chupa Chups that I've been holding off on. And then cut my hair.
I love this pack because it comes with pretty much all the flavors I want. Cola, grape, strawberry, and strawberries and cream. I don't quite understand why America doesn't manufacture these. My pack is from Taiwan. My friend who went to London this summer also bought me a pack, because she knows that I was hunting them down earlier this year. Some of the other ones are from little candy shops in the area. It kind of takes a while to find the shops. I don't like the flavors that I get here as much though ( 'sept orange and cherry are pretty good).

I was planning on not posting this picture today because I didn't have time to put together an outfit this morning. But this is the only picture I have right before I cut my hair. I don't know if it's noticeable in the picture (I think so, at least), but when my hair grows out to this length, it has a mind of its own. Flipping in whatever direction tickles its fancy. It's been really bothering me for a while, so I took about 30 or 40 minutes to cut it today.

Off topic for a bit. I should really open my winter boxes soon. The temperature dropped from the 80's and 90's range to 60's and low 70's recently. It feels more like 50's and 60's to me. So the thing is, all of my long sleeves and sweaters are stored in my off season boxes, and I haven't unpacked those yet, since the weather was still super warm up until this week. This morning, I spent 40 minutes doing I-don't-know-what. Looking through my drawers, looking for my sweaters that I don't have out, except for the grey cardi I wore yesterday.

Back on topic.
I don't know if anyone can tell the difference at all. I actually did cut quite a bit. As I was sweeping up, it looked like about 1/5th of my hair was on the floor. I got most of the fluff and weight off. Some parts are a bit choppy, since I'm not super experienced. I suppose I'll find time to go for a haircut, maybe get a new style.

When I finished cutting, I was called to dinner. I though to myself "I'll bet my life that my mom wont be able to tell I cut my hair." And when I was eating, she said nothing. She walked into the restroom afterwards and asked me "WHERE DID ALL THAT HAIR COME FROM." Hahaha from my head, of course.

I think maybe I'll make a trip to the mall sometime soon for some fall-weather approved clothes. Mmmnn my stomach kind of hurts.

so length of hair determines gender.

Coolfax. I'd been coloring I picture I drew a while ago, and my brother happened to stop by. I can't remember exactly, but I asked him a question about her hair color, and he blurted out, "THAT'S A GIRL?" Seriously.
So of course, I resort to myself as an example, asking me if my hair style makes me a boy. My brother answered something line lines of "generally, yes." What is this world coming to? Okay, I know it's just him. He's already a middle schooler, goshdangit. I think that's well enough to know that girls don't have to have long hair. Suppose I should stop thinking about it.

I had cake yesterday. My dad likes ice cream cake (I do too, of course. But my dad doesn't like cake-he likes ice cream cake only, with no cake inside), so we got an ice cream cake. It was from Ben and Jerry's, with vanilla and coffee ice cream and cookie in the middle. Which makes it not-really-a-cake. I had my best friends over, whom I haven't seen since school started. My best friend Nana brought me over a birthday present. I can't express how happy I am. She's never been a birthday type, and I feel a bit guilty accepting presents.
She got this teacup nightlight for me, the cutest thing ever. I must have started laughing when I opened it. Now I have a teacup on my wall!
I also got these boots from her.
My mom has been asking me what I wanted for about a month now. Every so often, I have the urge to cough out ALEXANDERMCQUEENSCARF, but I try to hold that back. Successfully.

She and my older brother ended up buying me these bedsheets, because she knows I like floral print items. My dad wasn't sure what to get me, so he gave me money. I have to be sure to separate it from my other money, so I can spend it on something I normally wouldn't buy. LikethatMcqueenscarf. I keep thinking about it, but I've mostly talked myself out of buying it. I think I'll buy myself a dress instead.

Oh, today's outfit. I really do hate laundry. I threw my favorite cardigan into the wash, and then dried it, and then realized that it shrunk two sizes. I managed to stretch it out a bit, closer to the original size. It's not like it doesn't fit or anything. But I'm picky with my outerwear. They have to be oversized.vintage bag , cardigan, and broach from flea market. pants and scarf thrifted
Oh creepy. I'm actually looking at the camera. That never happens. Well, looks like it's off to work now. I got my poetry homework to work on, and some econ homework. Maybe I'll go eat some cake too.

not for the rain.

Happy October to you all! Gosh, October already. It's going to be 2011 before I know it. Here's today's outfit. My family and I go out for lunch on weekends. I was told after I finished changing from my pajamas that we're staying home today.
polka dot shorts, Simply Vera top, 3/4 sleeve cardigan: all thrifted. shoes: Taiwan underground mall parasol: MAM, Kera Shop Arena Osaka

I think I might have mentioned before that I have sun and heat sensitivity. I promised myself this year that I would take my parasols with me when I go out, but I haven't been keeping that promise all the time because it's quite a hassle to lug it around with me everywhere.

I have a white collapsible parasol too, but whenever I take that with me, I end up forgetting it somewhere. Luckily, it's come back to me each time I lost it.

Whenever I do take my parasols with me, there's always someone who tells me that it's not raining. I tell them I have sun allergies (which it is, just nothing too serious), just to make it simple.

My dad gave me some pocket money as an early birthday present. When he gave it to me, I was all set to use it on the Mcqueen scarf I wanted. And then I started talking myself out of it. I don't know what I'll do now. Maybe clean out my closet, sell some old things, and then decide.

Oh right, I bought some new shoes online recently. Hopefully that will arrive later today. I can't be sure because the seller has not contacted me for a full week now. Bad service. Hoping for the best.

Here's a bit of an edit. I figured that since I wasn't going anywhere with the family today, I'd wear this skirt with the outfit instead. I've been wanting to wear it with an outfit.
