hey well sup there.

Happy Thanksgiving! I have nothing to do this break except for fun things like chores (running out for errands, cleaning my room, doing laundry), and homework. You know the stuff.

black lace tank from thrift shop, H&M dress, Sam's Petticoat long petticoat from flea market
This was my outfit two days ago when I went to meet Mother Monster. The waiting was pretty miserable. We had to pre order the book to get in, and I waited in line for that for about ten hours. It wasn't so bad that time, really, because the weather was considerably good and I brought some homework to do along the way to kill time.

But when she released her book, it was raining outside and we all had clashing umbrellas so water was falling off everyone's umbrellas and I got pretty wet anyway, which made it feel so much colder outside. Gaga was an hour late to the event, which isn't really all that bad. It;s more the waiting and anticipation when everyone was starting to be let in. Everyone got there really early. Pat, who I met last week, was at the very front of the line, and had been waiting since 6am. We weren't let in until at least 7pm. That's dedication.

Gaga bought us Crumbs cupcakes to eat while we waited. They were huge and I could only eat half. I wanted to try and finish, but then it dropped on the rainy ground. 5 second rule doesn't apply in rainy weather.
I had made stickers for her, but security took them so that I couldn't give it to her directly. Most other monsters were aware that security is tight, so they knew to hide things they wanted to get to her. You live and you learn.

Mother Monster is a beautiful woman.

praying for japan.

Chances are you've heard already about the earthquake and tsunami in Japan. I woke up early this morning and only to find myself in panic. I was scared for Japan. I was scared for Hawaii, which was also struck. I was scared for Taiwan, which was another possible victim. I was frightened for my own residence in the Bay of California, where we were predicted to be hit at 8:08am. This morning during first period, my class monitored the live cam in San Francisco. Luckily, the waves died out by the time they reached our coast. And thankfully, I have not heard of any injuries or damages from those I know in Japan or Hawaii. I am extremely thankful.

We can reach out, in this time of need! Gaga had designed a wristband for this cause, and all proceeds will go to relief in Japan. You can choose however much you'd like to donate; anywhere between $5 and $105.

Additionally, you can donate straight from your phone. Donate $10 by texting REDCROSS to 90999 to support the cause!

I'm horrified by the practical jokes and bitter racism against the Japanese, which are completely inappropriate, especially in this time of need. We are all brothers and sisters from the human race. And for the record, Satoshi Tajiri is not dead. Long live the king!

million miles away.

For my 100th post, I wanted to incorporate some art, because it's not often that I post art on my blog. I am a huge fan of galaxies and cosmic print. This was drawn for Red.
Written in the Stars is stuck in my head.

Here's an extension of my SoCal trip.
Berverly Hills is boss, man. The houses are so nice. There are tour cars going around introducing celebrity houses. It was kind of weird. I didn't have a car there, so it was a lot of public transportation and walking. Ohh the walking.

While I was in Los Angeles, I took a trip to Maxfield's, because I wanted to see Comme Des Garcons. I took a picture of their window display. It's not a very good picture, but I was afraid of taking any more pictures because guards are pretty.

I did ask a worker inside if I could take a picture with the statues, though. I got pictures with all of them.
I felt a little awkward and out of place, especially with so many people dressed in suits. The workers were welcoming, though. One worker commented on how she liked my shoes. Another commented on my cat sweater dress.

I didn't see as much Comme Des Garcons as expected. What really took my breath away were the Christopher Kane dresses. There were two different ones in the babydoll style with resort 2011 prints. My biggest regret was not having the guts to ask for a fitting room. There were people who were trying things on and taking pictures. I wish I could have done that.

Holy shoot holy shoot this one. It's so freaking gorgeous. I originally also wanted to go to Opening Ceremony for the Alexander Wang items and Christopher Kane tees. I don't think I can ever afford the dresses, but I can at least hope for a sale on the tees. I still want that Zara one that I missed out on. Things I like:

Christopher Kane dress from Farfetch.com, Christopher Kane tee from Opening Ceremony, Galaxy tee from Zara, pink cosmic dress from Opening Ceremony, Christopher Kane Resort 2011, G-Star Marc Newson galaxy Gore Tex Jacket.

I haven't been able to find that Zara top anywhere. If anyone is selling it, you know who to contact. Oh yeah, and the Comme Des Garcons for H&M collection. I remember coming across it years ago, and brushing it off. Another regret. There are some pieces from the collection that I'd like.

If I become a designer, expect to see space related designs.

I woke up at noon today. And then watched the Mugler show. There was quite a bit of tripping and stumbling going on. Gaga wore something like 10 inch heels and walked effortlessly. Now that's beast. Just checked; Mugler is finally on Style.com! I wasn't floored by anything I saw, really,in the show today. My favorite would be this one, but perhaps for the wrong reason. It reminds me of Alexander Wang.

I do like the second half of the menswear collection, though. I wish I could do that, for Dare to Wear day tomorrow. It's a bit late now, though.

makes my eyes bleed.

Gosh, I'm one post away from my 100th post. It's been just about half a year since I started blogging. I still sometimes feel like I just started.

Shirt from Super Crew, Jacket from Puma, pants from H&M, leggings from Aritzia, Docs from Buffalo Exchange

Today was neon day at school. If you haven't figured, it was a bit difficult for me because I don't have all that much color in my closet. Everything I have is sorted into the black pile, the while pile, the greys and beiges, and a pile for everything that doesn't fit in those categories. So I wore my Super Crew shirt, which is about as much neon as I have.

After some additional searching around, I remembered I had a bottle of fluorescent nail polish. It makes my eyes bleed a little bit. It looked a lot more obnoxious in real life compared to the picture. My mom told me that if me dad saw it, he would get a heart attack. So I took it off soon after arriving home
Orly "Oh Cabana Boy."

Sleep deprived all week, man. It's ridiculous. I get home, sit and do nothing for seven hours, and then remember to do homework, and go to sleep and 1, and then fall asleep in all my classes. Senioritis sucks.

Oh yeah, my Billboard Gaga issue was FedEx'd over today. Yeyeah.
Can't read it until I finish my research notes for my research paper. I can't find any sources. And I'm falling asleep any second now. And my research is due in like an hour and a half.

going nude: mac viva glam gaga 2 review, comparisons, and swatches.

I was finally able to go to MAC to pick up my Viva Glam Gaga today. Stopped by Borders on the way, so I was able to pick up the March issue of Vogue. I wasn't careful and accidentally chose one with a rip on the bottom. Dangit.
I was kind of hoping that the MAC store would be giving out free Gaga posters. No luck there.

I only bought the lipstick, but I might go back for the lipglass. In general, I'm not a huge fan of lipglosses, but I can make an exception if it's MAC and Gaga. The lipstick is a nice warm flesh nude shade. It doesn't apply as dark as it looks. The only other MAC nude color I am familiar with is Myth, which applies really light. Viva Glam Gaga 2 is a darker shade than Myth, and is more flattering on different skin tones.

Here are my other nude lipsticks. From left to right, Victoria's Secret Femme, MAC Viva Glam Gaga 2, and Revlon Nude Attitude.
And some swatches on my arm for color comparison. After getting this MAC one, I don't think I can go back to using the other two. The MAC formula is that good. It glides on smoothly and easily and goes on creamy, while the Victoria's Secret one is hard to apply and makes my lips look cracked and flaky. The only other formula that I can think of that might be better is the Yves Saint Laurent lipsticks, which are over twice the price of MAC.

Here it is worn. Left is before and right is after.
Kissy face. I tried doing a toothy smile, but I haven't been able to do one of those since 9th grade. The all came out looking really forced, so I decided against putting it in.

The color is pretty light. When I was looking in the mirror, in the bathroom light, it looked like my skin is darker than the lipstick. In most lighting, it looks about the same. I would like it to be a tad darker, but I do like this lipstick quite a bit.
I tried to take a closeup, but my lips are extremely non-photogenic. At least that's not too much of a concern as a style blogger.

Overall, I do recommend this lipstick. Like most nudes, it does tend to flatter the fair skinned more, but it is quite wearable on non-fair skinned people. My skintone is not particularly light, which is something I have to take into consideration when choosing out cosmetics. (Someone once said to me, 'if you have sun allergies, why is your skin so dark?').

Bonus time. I thought this kind of went with the nude theme. I'm currently wearing Chanel Inattendu nail polish. My grandmother bought it for me as a present last year before I returned to America.
If it were a little less warm and orangy, it might possibly be my mannequin hands color. Chanel polish has the most flawless formula for application, but is too much of a splurge for me to buy. Thought the colors are great and the formula is great, Chanel varnish is really just for the name. For the time being, I'll just stick with dupes.

Beauty blogging is probably not for me.

vivaglam gaga is back.

Another thing for me to look forward to next month! The first thing I'm looking forward to is finishing the last of my college apps.

The first Vivaglam Gaga lipstick for MAC was released about a year ago alongside Vivaglam Cyndi. I'd never bought a lipstick before, and the light pink isn't quite the type of color I would wear. Nude colored lipstick is the only color I'm willing to use.
But you know. If it's Gaga lipstick, I had to get it. Here's a picture I took of the first Vivaglam Gaga from last February.

Vivaglam Gaga II will be released in the US on February 17th. I'm particularly excited to buy it this time around because Vivaglam Gaga II will be a nude color!
I'll be running off to the mall just for this next month, no doubt. Information courtesy of Temptalia.

black friday is not my day.

At midnight of Black Friday, I was at the mall, just for kicks. I didn't have anything in mind to buy, but I wanted to go to H&M to check out their $5 deals. Turns out, it's not so great. There were a few racks of $5 items, a few with $10, $15, and $20. There weren't any more sales than there were last week, when I was in San Francisco. Despite the lack of real sales, the lines for getting into the store ran a whole block down.

Forever21 had some $7 denim and cardigans, and buy one get one free on sale items. Nothing special, but the checkout line would have taken an hour or so to get to the front. I wanted to get some leather pants and a motorcycle jacket, but I'll wait to buy those on a normal not-crowded day. Wet Seal had 50% off the whole store, which was pretty good. The problem was that they were short staffed; one and a half cashiers were there. My friend who lined up pretty close to the beginning waited in the check-out line for an hour and a half.

I did make a couple purchases. One was a Hello Kitty t-shirt at Hot Topic. I went into Hot Topic for my baby brother, who wanted Invader Zim/Adventure Time/Harry Potter items, all which weren't on sale. I bought him a character gift card instead.
It retails for $22 and on sale for $10, but what I was really after was the Lady Gaga poster that they gave out with the purchase of the Hello Kitty t-shirt.

The other thing was a flower hair clip at Claire's.
The color matched the H&M dress I bought last week, so I thought about getting it to wear together. Personally, I'm a take-my-time browsing kind of shopper, so Black Friday isn't my day. Though it's fun to join in on the madness once a year.

cherry cherry boom boom.

thrifted cardigan, Peace Now necklace, GLP skirt, F21 cardi
First day of dance practice today! I signed up to do senior girls' homecoming dance for the skit, but I signed up about three weeks ago and never got an email about meetings. So I missed who knows how many meetings now. I got my first email on Saturday, with an apology. I went to the meeting today, but I really am far behind.

The co-ed dance started today, so halfway through their practice, I decided it would be better to be in that one rather than the girls' dance. Also, we're dancing to Gaga so that's a major plus. I have a hard time keeping up, since I missed the first half. Watching instead of actually doing it doesn't help much. For the record, I'm not very good at dancing. I like dancing (and music) a whole lot. They're right under my art-and-fashion category in my list of favorite things. But I have talent in neither dance or music. I can't sing well, and have a hard time learning dances. I'm trying to learn Super Junior and 4minute dances through Youtube, and it's not working. Hopefully I'll be able to keep up in the next few sessions. Gaaaagaaaaa.

It was cold this morning. Even with two cardigans, it was still pretty cold. I wanted to wear my skirt, but it was so cold. I can't just wear tights or legging and be alright. So I threw on a pair of jeans. I'm kind of against skirts with pants (it doesn't seem right) but since my skirt is that short anyway, I wore both.

This morning while I was checking the weather and eating breakfast, I went and checked Court Records. Phoenix Wright/Professor Layton crossover! I'll admit I'm not much of a gamer. I can't play those RPGs where you have to fight monsters because I can't win. But I love visual novel games. Phoenix Wright is my favorite game, and Professor Layton is pretty high on my list too. So I'm excited for this crossover game! I'll bust my walled and buy a Nintendo 3DS just for this.

Aw man stomachache.

baby, I was born this way.

VMAs! I'm going to go to sleep late just because I spent too much time watching the VMAs and I couldn't tell that it ended when it ended, so I was watching whatever they were playing afterwards and thought that it was still going on. Augh.

Gaga made my day. You made me proud, Mama Monster. I was really hoping she wouldn't wear the meat dress though. I loved that she wore Mcqueen and Armani. And new album! Now I'm stoked.

I was having a bad hair day today. It was in a shape that I didn't really like when I woke up, and the thing with my hair is that once it's in a shape, it's hard to change it back until I shampoo it again.
sweater: thrifted
vintage mini polkadot shorts: thrifted

I was afraid I wouldn't be able to go thrifting today because my family and I were at Costco when we saw that we had a flat tire. It was the weirdest thing. We called AAA and they put on the backup tire for us. Our popped tire had a huge nail dug inside it. It's not easy to get a tire popped by a nail, because the nail has to be in a specific angle for it to dig in. So. I don't get it.

I remember there was this one spread in Marie Claire (I think it was, at least. It could have been Bazaar) about sweaters and shorts. So I kind of wanted a sweater to go with my shorts. I also bought a rose knit cardigan and some kind of maxi skirt that I'm going to try to make into a dress.

It's over an hour past my bed time. I'm sleepy. Good night!
